Content is Key
In an era that according to a study by Microsoft, the average human being now has an attention span of eight seconds.
Attention span is the length of time for which a person can concentrate on a particular activity or subject.
Times, where opening a business it’s on the reach of almost everyone, markets are saturated, and barely any idea is new.
How to create distinction then?
Content is the answer.
But not just any type of content, a valuable one. The kind of content that isn’t solely informational, narrative and dull. No, no, no. Attention span, remember.
We have eight seconds to pitch our product/service to our prospects and make them want us instead of the competition, that is right next “door”.
Valuable content needs to be simple to read, straightforward and clear.
So simple right?
So why so many businesses fail?
Because simplicity can be such a hassle, requires a lot of research, digging into data and knowing your target from the front to the back.
If it was easy, anyone could do it, and we would buy everything that the internet suggests us.
Now we are facing a digital revolution, the competition will increase, and likely the attention span will decrease, which means that we will have even less time to show the actual value of our product to our candidates.
Is this a reason to not even try?
Absolutely no, but if you want to do it, do it RIGHT!
Having a fantastic idea and an outstanding product is not enough if the content produced is not reaching the right target and show the real benefits of the benefits, and of those benefits in connecting and short words. It’s a challenging digital world, but a digital world that also offers easy changes throughout the process.
My advice before you thinking about giving up, don’t be lazy and make the changes necessary until your message reach your final target. Test your product one, two, three, the times needed till you have a better understanding of who you want to get. Work, work, work because you have a big challenge in front of you. But instead of giving up, fight for those seconds; when you conquer them, you will own that small and loyal world that loved your content and message before even tried the product/service.
Hope you could have read all this article in less than eight seconds, I tried my best to keep you around!
